Ullswater in the Lake Distrct
After a wonderful holiday in the Lake District I thought that I would share some pictures over the next few weeks of the wonderful places that we visited and enjoyed while on holiday.
This first collection is of Ullswater and the surrounding area... Enjoy..
Pretty River
This is the pretty river that runs through the village of Glenridding and flows into the lake Ullswater.
Ullswater at its best
What a great place to play in the water. Jess loved swimming in the lake while we loved looking at the stunning views.
Family playing
Here we are all playing at the lakes edge, we spent many a happy hours just playing in the lakes and rivers.
Perfect Picture
The lovely Ullswater with its towering mountains behind and a Yacht sailing on the lake.
Aira Force
This is Aira Force which is close to Ullswater, the waterfall cacades over the rocks before dropping the 70 feet. There are bridges at the top and bottom of the falls where you can stand and take in the view. There are some lovely walks along the river here to.
Aira Force is now owned by the National Trust and well worth a visit although it can get busy in the summer months.
