Lynton and Lynmonth and on to Watchet
Some more photos this week of our holiday in Somerset, this time we have the pretty coastal villages of Lynton and Lynmonth and then onto another, the lovey coastal village of Watchet.
Waiting for the cliff railway
This is the view from the top of the cliff railway, looking out to the beach down below.
Waiting at the top you're in Lynton and after a 862 foot drop to the bottom you're in Lynmonth.
You can see the two railway coaches passing on there way up and down the cliff.
Nearly up the top
This is a wonderful trip up and down the cliff, make sure if you're here you take a trip, young and old will love it!!
The river in the village
Looking towards the pretty village
Pretty coastal homes and shops
The grey building across the river is the town hall and the upstairs of the building houses a model village which is open to the public.
The cliff railway from Lynmouth
Here we are standing on the pebbley beach looking back to the cliff railway.
Watchet Harbour
This is Watchet harbour, a small pretty coastal town. Every corner you turn there is something to see, we were lucky enough to have our holiday home just on the edge of the village and we could walk down to the town in the morning for the newspaper. It was wonderful.
Chimney and church
In the background you can see the chimney and church, our holiday home was just here by these, the large white buildings are Watchet's paper recycling plant. Although is was close by it was no problem. Our holiday home was wonderful and we had a great week there.
Watchet Museum
A small but a nice museum with lots of information, we spent an enjoyable time in here.

Steam loco
This is a steam loco on the West Somerset Railway, here it is just leaving Watchet station, another reason why we stayed in this town. When we sat outside in the garden we could hear the locos blowing their whistles.
