Killerton House
Killerton house in located near Exeter in Devon and is now owned by the Natioal Trust.
The house was built in1778 by the Acland family one of Devon's oldest familys. In 1944 the house and 6,400 acres of land were given to the Natioal Trust by the British Politician Sir Richard Acland. With all the land it also includes 20 farms and 200 cottages, this is one of the largest the National Trust has acquired.

The beautiful gardens were lovely to walk around. Lovely colours and very peaceful.

Trees and lots of them
The park like grounds had some wonderful trees, some hugh and wonderful shapes.
Killerton Chapel
Standing in the grounds of Killerton house was this delightful chapel which was built before the house in 1738.

West Somerset Railway
The railway runs from Minehead on the coast to Bishop Lydeard just a few miles from Taunton. On your 20 mile trip through some beautiful counrtyside you can stop off at one of the 10 stations to take in the sights around you.
The loco in the picture is West Country Class 4-6-2 34046 "Braunton"
Looking out at the sea
In this picture we are just coming up to the station at Blue Anchor, the station is very pretty and a good place to stop take in the sea air and have a coffee.
