A trip to Windsor to see the Queen
A trip to Windsor Castle is this weeks collection of pictures. We spent a lovely day in Windsor and had a great time in the castle lots to see. Our 12 year old son had wanted to visit and he really enjoyed it.
Windsor Castle in the gloom
After parking the car this was our first glimps of the Castle in the gloom of the misty morning.
Walking up to the Castle
Changing of the Guard
The streets were quite busy as this was a wet chilly day in the Easter holidays but many of the crowds were tourist.
Inside the Castle grounds
Once inside the grounds there was lots to see and not to busy although getting into the entrance to pay was a bit of a pain.
The Royal Standard flying at Windsor
We new the Queen was in residence as the Royal Standard was flying high above the Castle.
Pretty gardens
Residence in the grounds of Windsor
Some of the pretty cottages that the Military Knights live in.

St Goerge's Chapel
A beaitful place to visit, again it was busy but well worth a look.
The visitors..
The South Wing
This is the South Wing of the Upper Ward and the offical entrance to the state apartments is to the left of this picture.
Again the State Apartments
More lovely gardens
The streets of Windsor
This is one of the pretty streets just outside the castle grounds.
The Crooked House
This is a pretty Tea Rooms which was called "The Crooked House of Windsor" and as you can see it is certainly Crooked.
The Hawker Hurricane
This is a momorial to Windsor resident Sir Sydney Camm CBE FRAeS (1893-1966)
Camm designed the Hawker Hurricane and it first flew in 1935 and then by 1937 the RAF had put it into service. He also had lots of links to many other aircraft over the years but this is a full size replica that was unveiled on 20th July 2012 to remember him.
Watching you watching me
One of the many geese on the River Thames in Windsor, he had his picture taken as he seemed most interested in me.
The River Thames
The pretty picture of the Thames with the boats and the railway bridge even if it was chilly and not very sunny.
