The Sewards Gathering and Road Run

This is a collection of pictures that were taken at The Sewards of Petersfield Steam and Vintage Gathering and Road Run, which is held in Liss Hampshire. It is run by my husband Lloyd, our friend Kevin and myself. This is the 5th one we've held and was the biggest and best yet, with 8 full size traction engines and loads of other vehicles on site it was an event not to be missed.

Some of these pictures were taken by Kevin Lockyer so you will see a KL at the end of each blurb...

Model Gallopers

Model Gallopers

This is a 3inch scale model of a set of gallopers which is slowly being made and eventually they hope to run them by steam. As well as the gallopers they also brought along their 3inch Fowler traction engine and saw bench, their wagons and log cart. All very sweet, the children love all the miniature things as they can see into the workings. (KL)
Cars, cars, cars

Cars, cars, cars

Some of the cars that attended over the weekend, all cars were pre.1975 and they range from a 1974 Ford Escort to a 1926 Rolls Royce.(KL)
Tractor boys

We had a good selection of tractors on the field and most of them took part in the road run. (KL)
Commercial vehicles

Commercial vehicles

Always an interesting section, the commercials, as there are so many different vehicles to look at. We had Land Rovers to Model T Ford Fire Engine. (KL)
Liss Band

Liss Band

On the Sunday afternoon we had Liss Band playing on the field which is always great. Everyone sat around the shady tree area with their ice creams and listened to them play. A wonderful way to end a busy weekend.

We would like to say a big thank you to all those that attend whether you came as an exhibitor or the public coming to have a look as without you this wouldn't go ahead. Here's looking forward to next year. 9th and 10th July 2011. See you there.

MISS IT, MISS OUT
