The first event of 2013

This was Victorias event after her full repaint, we had other events we had planned to go to before this but sadly we missed them as Victoria took longer to paint than excepted.

This is a great little event, we try to attended each year as it is all for local charity and lots of money has been rasied over the many years it has been running.

Our first steam rally was held over the weekend of 22nd & 23rd June at Ropley, Hampshire. Called The Dene Rally and it was located close to the Watercress Line so steam trains were passing the field all day. A great little rally with quite a few exhibits and 9 or so steam engines. Well worth the 3 hour trip roading over on Victoria to spend the weekend there even if it was VERY windy and raining!!
Early morning steaming up

Early morning steaming up

You can see from the colour of the clouds what sort of morning it was so Victoria kept her cover on while being steamed up. you can also see her driver and the dog taking shelter in the gazebo.

Covers came off and steam had been made.. The sky still looks dark and the rain kept coming and going but it didn't dampen our spirits..
