Hythe Station

Hythe Station

This is the Romney Hythe and Dimchurch Railway which runs out to Dungeness on the coast, there are 7 stations en-route and it's quite a long trip. This is Hythe station which is lovely. The locos and carriages are all one third scale.
Jess having a ride

Jess having a ride

This is Jess enjoying her ride, she looks like a giant dog but remember the carriages are one third scale. She did look cute sitting in the seat...

One of the steam locos in use, they also had diesels.
Dover Castle "Colton's Gate"

Dover Castle "Colton's Gate"

Walking up to the hill towards "Colton's gate". I was looking forward to going here to Dover Castle but I was a little disappointed all in all.
The Tower

The Tower

After walking through the gate house you see in front of you what is called The Tower.
Looking down

Looking down

This photo was taken from the top of the tower looking down towards what is called "The Palace Gate", it's a long way down.....
Looking out to Dover town centre

Looking out to Dover town centre

Walking around the battlements was one of my favourite bits. The views were lovely, sadly it was a little cloudy on the day we went but we enjoyed watching the boats coming in and out of Dover docks.

From the Battlements

Looking from the battlements towards the building known as The Officers New Barracks which was constructed in the 1850's
Dover ferry port

Dover ferry port

This photo was taken while waiting to enter the famous Dover Castle Tunnels, this I think is the bit that disappointed me. I was hoping for more information from the tour guide and more time to just take in the surroundings.

Later in the day the skies cleared and I took another photo of the docks.... Lovely.

All in all Dover Castle was good and I would say well worth a visit, my 2 boys had a good time there.
