This collection of photos were taken in Yorkshire on our holiday.
The first three were taken at Eden Camp, Malton, North Yorkshire. It's a museum of wartime Britain, originally built in 1942 as a prisoner of war camp. All the original huts are still on site and this is now housing the musuem. In each hut it takes you back to the time of the war and with the smells, sights and sounds they create the feeling of being there. In one hut they have you in a U boat, in another you're in the street at night in the Blitz.
It's a good day out, well worth a visit.
This is one of the vehicles which are situated in the entrance of the museum.
This is a selection of vehicles at the entrance; there is a Green Goddess fire engine, a tank, a scammell lorry, a Dukw and another aeroplane.
This is at Flamborough head, Bridlington, Yorkshire.
This photo was taken in August on a chilly and windy day, as you can see the sea is quite choppy.
This is the newer lighthouse which was built in 1806. The original light house still stands but it is set back further from the coast and was built of chalk back in 1669 and is believed to the only known example.
The walk down to the bay is quite a walk, you can see the steps just to the right of the lighthouse, that’s the start of your descent. It’s not too bad going down, it was the coming back up that was slightly harder.
