This weeks collection of pictures I took at the end of our season with our two steam engines last year.
The first few pictures are of Burrell Showmans engine "Lady Pride of England" at the Hollycombe Steam Collection near Liphook, Hampshire.
Then the other pictures were taken at The Autumn Countryside show which was held at Singleton near Chichester, West Sussex.
As we only live a few miles down the road from Hollycombe we decided that we would attend a couple of their 'Fairground at Night' events which they hold at the end of their opening season. They have all the rides and their showmans engine lit up and we went along on September 18th and 25th to help light up the fair.
Here we see Lady Pride of England standing in front of The Razzle Dazzle which is the only example of this ride to existence.
This was a lovely event to attend, the whole fair gives a good atmosphere and it was very busy both Saturday evenings when we attended. Something different for the family and the restaurant/cafe does some nice fish and chips amoung other things...
It's well worth a look next year when these nights are on, it's an evenings entertainment for young and old.
Here is Lady and her crew, this engine is only on loan to us for a short while and its an honor to be aloud to play with such a wonderful machine. Our two sons love her, especially our eldest who takes great time, care and pride in her at all times, it's nice to see the youngsters with such a passion.
As well as traction engines and tractors etc. they also have horses ploughing, here they are being shown in the arena.
As well as my love for traction engines I have a love for horses, for many years I had some but time and life style changes means now's not the time for horses in my life, maybe some time soon though I hope....
Apart from all the rope and people, I know, but I sometimes think it's nice to have a picture like this in black and white.
The two friends are ready to move on to the next stop in their busy season.
Victoria here seems dwarfed by Foden engine "Wattie Pollock".
After this event it was time for Victoria to return back home to Liss after her few weeks away doing events in and around Sussex.
