A few weeks ago we spent a very wet weekend with our steam traction engine at the Bill Targett steam rally. This year the rally had moved site from Colden Common near Eastleigh to Matterly Farm near Winchester which meant a different route out to the rally field from home.
Here are just a few photos as the weather was so bad that I didn't venture out of my living van much over the weekend.
Here we were taking on water. The water fountain is called the Lion's Mouth. The water is so clear here just right for Victoria, you can see Kev in the water with one end of the hose while on Victoria's footplate is Lloyd watching till her tender is full.
This is a photo of the engine line up, here you can see just a few of the engines that were at the rally over the weekend. There were about 40 full size steam engines from rollers to showmans engines.
Victoria is second from the right in the line up...
This is Victoria pulling the roller, Hilda around the rally field.
This roller spent many years in a playground in Southampto for children to play on and according to my parents many years ago I was one of those children. Now it has been purchased and is being lovingly restored to it's former glory and hopefully soon it will be chuffing around under it's own steam.
