A walk on Harting Hill, West Sussex

A few pictures this week that I took while on a family walk up on Harting Hill in West Sussex on a chilly windy Sunday afternoon but a great way to spend a few hours out in the fresh air.

Harting Village

Harting Village

From the top of Harting Hill you get a wonderful view of the lovely village of South Harting. This is the village that both my parents grow up in and I spent many happy days as a child playing and still lots of my family live in the village.
Harting church

Harting church

Standing at the top of the main street in South Harting is the church St Mary and St Gabriel, the light green steeple is a well known land mark.

This is the church that my parents got married in on 25th March 1961.

The rolling countryside

The rolling countryside

When you stand on the top of the hill you can see how lucky we are to be surrounded by the beautiful Hampshire/Sussex countryside.
The Ruins

The Ruins

This is the ruins which sit on Tower Hill, which I believe belongs to the National Trust.

Sunset on Harting

After a 3 hour walk we are back at the car, worn out but had a wonderful afternoon in the chilly but sunny fresh air and to make it all worth while a lovely sunset to drive home in.
